Giving Back

Something really important to us at Empowering Change Inc. is giving back or ‘paying it forward’.  We want you to know that for every agency that hires us to provide the following training services from January 2012-August 2012, we will make a $600.00 donation.  Imagine a gift that can change a life in a developing country.  It can make a difference to a child living in one of the poorest communities of the world.

Motivational Interviewing Training

  • Level 1 (3 days), maximum 20 participants
  • Phone Coaching (6 hours), 5 participants per group for 2 hour blocks
  • Level 2 (2 days), maximum 20 participants

Your agency can decide how you would like the donation made here’s your options:

Livestock:

  • Owning a pig offers big opportunities for a rural family.  You can buy a pig for a family for $75.00 in Rwanda.
  •  Chicken isn’t just food it’s an opportunity.  Offering a source of income, manure for a vegetable garden and supply of eggs.  You can buy a chicken for a family for $16.00 in Burkina Faso, India, Rwanda and Uganda.
  • Goats are a welcome source of milk, meant and household income.  You can buy a goat for a family for $45.00 in Burkina Faso, India.
  •  A cow is a wonderful source of income and nutrition for a family.  You can buy a cow for $230.00 in India.
  • Fill the Yard!  Buy 3 chickens, 2 pigs, 2 goats, and a cow for $518.00 in Burkina Faso, India, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda.

Earning an Income:

  • Greenhouse Farming reduces instances of disease, keeping weeds at bay and reducing the need for expensive chemicals.  For $47.00 families in Kenya learn valuable faming skills, earn an income and teach others in their region to do the same.
  • Small Business Starter.  For $100.00 you can help you can help provide skills training and support to get a family business booming in Ethiopia!
  • Carpentry Workshop.  For $150.00 this allows adolescents to learn valuable carpentry skills that they can use to provide for themselves and their family later in life, along with training to help them become responsible and ethical entrepreneurs in Nicaragua.

Education:

  • Send a kid to camp for $30.00 this is amazing way to learn valuable life skills in Ghana and Nicaragua
  • Books help children develop their intellect and their imagination.  For $35.00 this provides educational books for child development centers to help children learn and grow in Haiti and Colombia.
  • Prepare a student for University for $100.00 this will give students the skills they need to thrive personally and academically in Guatemala.
  • Student Resource Centre in Haiti or Colombia.  For $150.00 this provides children with classroom supplies and furniture.
  • Computers in Ghana and Nicaragua.  For $500.00 this will help connect young people with the education, skills and training computer facilities they need to succeed in the modern world.
  • Send a student to school in Philippines and Tanzania.  For $600.00 this will provide a student with an education where they can learn the skills they’ll need to take care of their family and escape from poverty.

Health and Wellness:

  • Mosquitoes carry malaria, which kills nearly one million people every year. Mosquito Nets in Burkina Faso and India for $13.00.
  • Vaccinations for Babies in Ecuador and Philippines for $26.00.
  • Dental Care in Nicaragua for $35.00.
  • Food for Mom in Ecuador and Philippines for $44.00 this will provide food and nutritional supplements to make sure moms and babies stay healthy.
  •  Medical Assistance for New Moms in Ecuador and Philippines for $100.00 this provides mothers-to-be to afford necessary medical assistance.
  • Toilets reduce the risk of illness for $175.00 this will provide clean, safe and adequate sanitation facilities in Bolivia, Colombia, El Salvador and Nicaragua.
